Visitors from Home. Tara and Brett

June began with Tara and Brett visiting us.  We so enjoyed them coming.  It was a real treat to have a taste of home.  They got here on Thursday the 5th of June.  Friday morning we set out for the ferry to Vancouver island and the city of Victoria.  It was a beautiful day.  (not a trace of rain or clouds, very lucky).   We toured Victoria and the Pier on Friday.  Saturday we spent in Buchard Gardens and saw the beauty there.  The weather and temperature was perfect.  The gardens were between flowers blooming, but was still so beautiful and peaceful.  A bit early for the major tourist season, so that was nice.   Sunday they came to our ward with us and then we took a Sunday drive to Vancouver and went through Stanley Park.  Monday we  went into the office for the morning and then took off for the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain.  We had such fun on the bridges and in the treetops.  We took the Tram, and the chairlift to the top of Grouse Mountain.  What a treat.  It was so clear we could see for miles.  We went up into the Eye of the Wind turbine.  That was fun.   I didn't want Tuesday morning to come, but it did and they left for home.  I almost couldn't make it through the day.  I miss my family so very much.  I love the missionaries, but I love home too.  Thank you Tara and Brett for taking your vacation time to visit us.

First inline to board the ferry.  Here we come Vancouver Island.  Look at those blue skies.  Wow

The ferry coming into Swartz Bay, Vancouver Island.

On the Ferry.  Beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Brett always makes a trip fun.

Our beautiful daughter.  She is such a joy to us.

On the Pier, watching the sea planes take off.  We loved the huge sailing ship off to the left there.

Tara and Brett enjoyed the Pier.  In the background is the gorgeous Embress Hotel.

Brett doesn't believe the sign.

Fish and Chips in Fisherman's Wharf.

The sunken gardens are absolutely breathtaking.

Tara and Brett enjoyed the sites and ended
with a 'small' game of chess.

A total surprise when we ran into the Sisters on their P-day going into Capilano.  Wonderful young women.  Love them so much.

We really enjoyed Capilano Suspension Bridge.  It was great fun.  You go across this long suspension bridge over a canyon, (beautiful to look down canyon).  Then you go over mini-bridges, and up into the top of the trees, (felt like Robinsons in their tree house) and then out over the river.

Wow it looked a bit scary.  But here we go.

Up into the top of the trees.  What fun.  We took a lot of pictures.  I won't post them all however.

Just don't look down.

We made it and such fun.  If you ever have a chance to go.  Take it.  Kind of pricey, but so much fun.

Riding up to the top of the Pacific Northwest.  (Grouse Mountain).

In the top of the "Eye of the Wind".  Watching the big blade go past the window (shown behind us) was a bit interesting.
 But what a view.

The tankers out in the bay, waiting to come in.  Off to the left is Stanley Park.  We could see Vancouver Island.
The Picture says it all.

We had a great weekend.  It was my birthday week and it was so fun to share it with family.  Thanks so much for that.  It ended with the sisters decorating my door.
